No Nonsense Shopping List
Congratulations on making a great decision about your health!!!!
If you are reading this it’s most likely because you ordered the No Nonsense Keto Guide and need to print your shopping list.
Are you ready to lose 10-20 pounds in the next two weeks?
I know you are!
You can either bookmark this list and save it or print it out…
Most of these ingredients are available in your local grocery store. But I have provided some handy links in case you live in the sticks like we do….
( As an Amazon Associate I may make a small commission at no extra cost to you if you make a qualifying purchase)
On to the lists…
Thom released this Keto guide on March 10th and we realized that this is enough food to feed an army. A Keto Army anyway.
Our whole family eats Keto. But we realize that this is not always the case. Just keep an eye on the portion sizes and how much you actually make of each recipe if you are on this Keto Journey alone.
He’s updating the portions and I will send an updated copy of the recipes to anyone who wants them as soon as he is finished.
Navigating your Grocery Store…

When I first started on the Keto Diet I was so overwhelmed thinking about what I couldn’t eat that I froze up in the store.
If there is one piece of advice that I hope will stick with you is to forget about what you CAN’T eat and start thinking about what you CAN eat.
Stick to the outside aisles of the store and the more familiar you get with Keto, the easier it’ll be. I swear.
You can check out the full Keto Friendly shopping list here to get an idea of what to buy. Print it out if you like or save it to your phone until you get the hang of it.
There is a good substitute for almost anything you can think of. You just have to get creative.
Do you love mashed potatoes?
Cauliflower mash is your friend..I know, I thought the same thing (ewww). But it’s an okay substitute if you make them right.
I don’t love cauliflower and I don’t like the way it smells either. But we are adults and can make our own decisions. Mashed potatoes give me a big butt….and gut so I eat cauliflower instead.
Sandwich lover?
Keto bread is pretty damn good and much easier to make than the traditional yeast bread. I wouldn’t lie about this because I know how much I missed bread when I started this diet.
We have some great recipes for low carb bread and you won’t spend hours kneading dough.
You can buy low carb bread but beware, it’s high priced and may contain some nasty chemicals ( preservatives). It’s up to you. I buy low carb tortillas all the time and make my own bread. To each their own.
Dessert ?
There are a ton of these out on the internet. You can check out some our favorites to get started.
I need chocolate in my life and would have never gotten through the first week without some of these.
Booze…yes, you can still have drinks on the Keto Diet.
But there are a few rules. Yes, beer is off limits. Check out this post about Drinking and Ketosis.
We also have a few cocktail recipes if you like mixed drinks. There are some yummy schnacks to go with them on this page too.
Schnaks from the store!

In the snack aisle you’ll find pork rinds ( don’t knock them just yet), beef jerky, nuts and sparkling water (you’ll get used to that too). Plus it’s great in vodka soda.
There isn’t to much more in this aisle that aligns with your goals but there are new low carb products on the shelf everyday so keep your eyes peeled and let me know if you find something I need to try…we are in this together right?
Keto Shopping & Your Budget

I have heard a lot of complaining about how expensive Keto is. I heard it mostly from myself when Thom decided to go Keto ( right after a huge carb laden Costco haul).
Yes, in the beginning it seems like it costs a lot. But once you have the basics it evens out. I promise.
Some Keto Friendly flours and sweeteners cost more than traditional flours and sweeteners. But you won’t use them very fast.
You’ll also eat less on Keto so spending a bit more per meal won’t add up to additional spending over the long run. But you will save your health. Don’t forget about that.
Organic Shopping?
I may catch some flack for this but I don’t not every single thing that I buy is organic. Yes, I really try to buy organic berries and meat when I can. Especially if my kid is going to eat it.
But, we are an inclusive group here and I would never shame anyone into overspending on their budget. If you think I should ~ don’t bother sending me a nasty email because you are not going to like me anyway. Let’s cut our losses.
Here’s the deal….buy organic meat and veggies when you can. Eat non-organic meat sparingly but don’t beat yourself up about it either. Check out the sales each week and buy it when you can, or in bulk, or both.
Costco has some excellent, high end meat choices too.
Amazon has great deals on flours, powders and sweeteners so do some comparison shopping, especially if you have Prime.
Don’t Over Buy!
You’ll likely be eating a lot more “fresh” foods on the Keto Diet than a sugar burning diet. So, don’t buy more fresh veggies than you are going to eat. Throwing away food is disheartening and will kill your budget quick….
